A 2-year temporary visa. The second visa application charge is $20,595 per person. There is no assurance of support for the 173 visa. Visa holders can apply for a permanent 143 visa before the expiry of the 173 and a second visa application charge of $13,730 per person is then payable. A 10-year assurance of support is required of $10,000 for the principal applicant and $4,000 for each other adult applicant for the permanent stage.

In addition to sponsorship an assurance of support is required, covering the first two years in Australia, involving lodgement of the necessary bond.

You must be sponsored by your Australian relative who is settled and a two-year assurance of support is required.
Brothers, sisters or children of Australian citizens or permanent residents or eligible New Zealand citizens.
