Emigrate to New South Wales

Discovered by famous explorer James Cook in 1770, New South Wales was the first area that discoverers set foot on Australian shore. As the most populated State in Australia, New South Wales is a popular location for migrants, particularly those with financial and pharmaceutical occupations. The State is home to around seven million people with just over four and a half of these living in the capital Sydney. Sydney offers a wide range of employment options as it stands as Australia's business capital and has a consistently strengthening economy.

New South Wales has a sub-tropical climate. The temperature averages a sunny 23C in the summer and Sydney is bathed in sunshine 342 days a year. The temperatures are much cooler in the winter dropping to an average of 13C.

A wide range of Information Technology and Business Services have chosen to call Sydney their home in recent years. Other industries currently thriving in this State are the coal industry - responsible for 19% of all exports from NSW - and tourism which adds an extra AUD$40 million to the economy each year. The State has many infamous attractions including the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge and Bondi Beach. The city also hosted the Olympic Games in the year 2000.

If you prefer a quieter lifestyle New South Wales has a wide variety of parks and gardens to enjoy, in fact 9% of these areas are under protection. Rainforest, desert and snowfields all make up part of the State, each offering a wide range of activities and outings. The State will also provide you with the perfect opportunity to go camping as the ideal weather combined with a good range of locations means you can now holiday close to home.
