The following EOIs were selected from the pool for validation on 1 July 2010:
365 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 140 or above:
308 with job offer
57 without job offer
365 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 140 or above:
308 with job offer

94 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, and included points for offers of skilled employment or current skilled employment in New Zealand.
53 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, without a job offer, but with 15 points claimed for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage.
53 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 120 or more but less than 140, without a job offer, but with 10 points claimed for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage.
(A total of 565 EOIs were therefore selected)
Conclusion: Leaving aside the EOIs in areas of Absolute Skills Shortage, only 12% of applicants managed to achieve the selection point without a job offer. Thus, 88% of ordinary applicants needed a job offer to qualify. Clearly, getting a job is of paramount importance to your application, which is where our Jobsearch Programme is best placed to help.
